Well personally I totally agree that a girl should have an equal right to the property of her parents. Its a cycle, the parents instead of dowry or Mehr should give their daughters equal right in the joint property as they would to there son. Even in the early Vedic age if we see that women were given an equal share; and she is an integral part of her birth family and its just not fair to oust her in that fashion.
